WASHING YOUR EXTENSIONS
Washing Your Extensions
Can You Wash It?
Yes, but follow these rules so your MYPART stays poppin.
How often should I wash my extensions?
Just once monthly, before your retouch, bae. Not every week. Wash her around the 4 to 5 week mark.
What To Use?
Focus on the extensions only, not your scalp or braids. Stick to a moisturizing shampoo, no clarifying or stripping stuff. Follow up with a moisturizing conditioner and or Silicone Mix. Let it sit for 15 minutes, then rinse it out. You can wash your extensions under the sink or in the shower, just make sure your "MYPART" section is clipped up and protected. Duck clips or ponytailing that area, will be your new bestie.
What to avoid:
Don’t soak or dunk your whole head. Focus only on the extensions, not your MYPART or your scalp. Be gentle, no scrubbing and definitely no flipping your head upside down like you’re in a music video.
Big Sis Tip:
Washing the wrong way can cause your braids to swell and make your install look older than it is. We need this to last 3 months remember! Be gentle, boo.
Why It Matters:
Skipping these steps can leave your MYPART frizzy or shifting. And using the wrong products? That’ll dry the hair out and have your bundles looking like a before picture lol.
Drying:
Air drying is best, but you can blow dry if needed just keep it cute and gentle.
