"MYPART DO'S & DON'TS
READ THIS BEFORE YOU TOUCH YOUR MYPART 👀
The MYPART is Low Maintenance, not No Maintenance, just like a soft life, she still needs a lil upkeep to keep it cute.
So here’s the tea: your "Mypart" might look a little frizzy or fluffy right after installation. That’s totally normal. It’s new hair, and she needs a minute to blend in and get comfortable.
Here’s what to do (and what not to do)
Flat Iron Wisely
You might need to pass a flat iron just over the MYPART section once or twice to help her lay. Don’t go chasing heat all over your head. Only the part, please.
Minimal Touching
You don’t need to check on her every hour. Over manipulation = buildup and frizz. Let her breathe, pooh.
If your "MYPART" is straight
Use a narrow tooth comb Only on the part area if she’s puffing up or frizzing. Be gentle. You’re not trying to “style” her, you’re simply maintaining the PART. You can gently flat iron the "Mypart" area only (not the whole install). Just a quick pass to help it lay down and blend better.
If your "MYPART" is curly or wavy:
Lightly dampen her with a spray bottle and detangle with care from ends to roots. Again, NO yanking, no rush jobs, and absolutely no combing her dry. That’s how she ends up looking like you slept in a tornado. Wet the "Mypart" section separately from the rest of the hair. Start detangling with a comb, never a brush from the ends and work your way up , slow and steady, no yanking.
Why it matters:
Rough handling will loosen the strands, or shift the install, even make her grow out early. And once that happens? That’s it, sis. We back in the chair sooner than needed. for a Retouch!
Now for the Rest of Your Hair...
Your extensions can handle a little more, but don’t get crazy. Use a paddle or detangling brush, starting from the ends and working your way up. Always clip the MYPART out of the way before you brush anything.
Take your time. Be kind.
The magic of the MYPART is in the maintenance not just the install.
Nighttime Check In
Before bed, wrap it up, boo! Your MYPART deserves a soft life, life style. smooth her out and tuck her away under a silk scarf and bonnet after. this keep your install laid, protected, and looking like Day 1 even on Day 25.
Important: Be gentle. Doing too much can loosen the technique or cause hair to come out and we don’t want that.
1.Don’t overdo it with product buildup.
Using too many edge controls, serums, or oils around your MYPART can cause clogging and tackiness. Keep it clean, light, and breathable so it stays lookin’ like scalp.. my fave product to use is SULFER 8 BRAIDING SPRAY WEEKLY2. Don’t skip your Retouch.
This ain’t a forever install. Retouches are a MUST every 4–6 weeks. Ignoring this will have your MYPART giving wide and no thank you lol
3. Don’t compare it to other installs.
This is in a league of its own. The MYPART is not a closure, not a leaveout, and definitely not a lace. It’s a lifestyle. Respect the category.
4. Don’t let everybody touch it. Your homegirl don’t need to "see how it’s in there." Too much touching, poking, or tugging can shift the technique or create tension. This ain’t a group project, it's your crown. Hands off, period.
5. Don’t skip dry shampoo.
Bae, this right here? It’s the game changer. Cambodian hair LOVES a lil’ dry shampoo to revive and bring back the bounce. Use a generous amount, comb it through, and watch it flow like new. Your bundles gon’ thank you. avoid the "Mypart"
