 The "MYPART" Bible

Maintenance + Upkeep 101
"Wait… that’s a sew-in?"

👋🏽 Hey boo! Got Questions About Your "MYPART"?

Don’t stress, you’re in the right place.

This is your go to guide for keeping your install fresh, your extensions poppin, and your "MYPART" acting right 'til your next appointment. Whether you’re new or just need a refresher, this lil’ manual will have you feeling confident, not confused.

💭 What’s a MYPART?

Okay, so boom… this ain’t your regular degular sewin. This is the "Mypart", baby.
No leaveout. No closure. No glue. Just scalp realness that folks legit think it’s growing out your head. it’s lightweight, sweatproof, and undetectable.
Let’s be clear: This is not a hairstyle, it’s a whole lifestyle.

🧼 Washing Your Extensions

Can You Wash It?
Yes, but follow these rules so your "MYPART" stays poppin.

How Often?
Wash just once before your retouch appointment, around the 4–5 week mark.

What to Use:
Stick to a moisturizing shampoo no clarifying or stripping stuff. Follow up with a moisturizing conditioner and Silicone Mix. Let it sit for 15 minutes, then rinse it out. You can wash your extensions under the sink or in the shower, just make sure your "MYPART" section is clipped up and protected. Duck clips are your new bestie.

How to Wash:
Don’t soak or dunk your whole head. Focus only on the extensions, not your "MYPART" or your scalp. Be gentle no scrubbing and definitely no flipping your head upside down like you’re in a music video.

Why It Matters:
Skipping these steps can leave your "MYPART" frizzy or shifting. Your braids underneath can swell and mess up the whole look. And using the wrong products? That’ll dry the hair out and have your bundles looking like a before picture lol.

Drying:
Air drying is best, but you can blow dry if needed

👑 How to Care for Your MYPART (aka Don’t Be Scared, Just Be Gentle)

Your MYPART is handmade luxury, not a random piece of hair from the beauty supply its actually installed using Raw Cambodian Hair. This ain’t no wig, it’s crafted to look like it’s growing out your scalp. And if you treat her rough? She will act a fool.

How Often?
Only as needed, mostly during week one. After that, she’s chillin'.

Don’t Be Scared to Comb Her.
Avoiding combing your "MYPART" will cause tangles and stress. She needs TLC, not neglect. This is YOUR hair, I just grew it for you, lol. So love on it, boo. Don’t just wear it, maintain it.

Before You Start:
Clip or section the "MYPART" off from the rest of the hair. and gather your small tooth comb

💆🏽 How to Detangle Your MYPART (Without the Drama):

Hold her steady with one hand, Gently detangle with the other, starting from the bottom up, No yanking, no rushing

If she’s straight: She meaning your hair lol!
First detangle using a narrow tooth comb, then flat iron only over the "Mypart" if she’s puffing and frizzing.

If she’s curly or wavy:
Mist her first, then detangle gently from the ends up.
NEVER comb her dry unless you’re ready to square up with your scalp.

💇🏽 What About the Bundles?

Your extensions outside of the "Mypart" can handle more, but don’t wild out.
Always clip the MYPART out the way, then use a paddle or detangling brush ends first, the comb out in 4 sections!

💡 Why It Matters:

Rough hands loosen the strands

Too much manipulation = frizz + early ""MYPART" Retouches

Tugging and laziness? You’ll be back in the chair way too soon

Your "MYPART" is LOW maintenance, not NO maintenance.

📆 Week One With Your MYPART: What to Expect & How to Keep Her Cute

The MYPART is low maintenance, not no maintenance  just like a soft life, she still needs a lil upkeep to keep it cute.

Your "MYPART" is fresh off the install chair, so sis, give her a minute to settle in. This first week is all about breaking her in gently while keeping her laid and blended. You might notice a lil frizz, a flyaway, or she might act a little stiff  that’s normal. She’s just adjusting to her new home (aka your scalp).

Here’s what to do (and what not to do):

Flat Iron Wisely:
You might need to pass a flat iron just over the MYPART section once or twice to help her lay. You don’t have to flat iron your whole head boo. Only the part.

Blend, Don’t Battle:
If your MYPART isn’t flowing just yet, give her a little help. A bit of detangling or smoothing will have her melting into the bundles. If she’s curly or wavy, dampen her first before you comb we don’t do dry drama.

Minimal Touching:
You don’t need to “check on her” every hour. Over-manipulation = buildup and frizz. Let her breathe, pooh.

Nighttime Check-In:
Before bed, smooth her out and tuck her away under a silk scarf. That lil bedtime routine keeps her fresh in the morning, no touch ups needed.

🔑 Reminder:
This week sets the tone. If you’re rough, lazy, or neglectful it will show.
But if you show her a little intentional love early on?
She’ll stay cute, undetectable, energy until retouch day.

Raw Cambodian Hair 101

Cambodian hair is that thick, raw, rich auntie energy.
It’s RAW and real , not the corn chip smelling stuff. That means:

Frizz is normal. Dryness is not.

Big Sis Tips:

Use leave-in + Serum for wavy or curly textures. Don’t run your fingers through curly hair until it’s 100% dry, girl she will give you frizz for days!

If straight, use a blow dryer brush + serum to smooth it

This hair can handle heat, curls, silk presses, or be worn natural, but remember:

RAW hair = real care. It’s a vibe, not a quick fix.

🚫 What NOT To Do

1. Don’t sleep wild.
Wrap it up, boo! Your MYPART deserves silk, not chaos. A scarf or bonnet keeps your install laid, protected, and looking like Day 1 even on Day 25.

2. Don’t overdo it with product buildup.
Caking on edge control, oils, and serums will have your MYPART looking like glue and gunk. Keep it clean and breathable for that “wait, is that her scalp?” illusion.

3. Don’t skip your retouch.
This technique is made to last a certain amount of time. Pushing past 5–6 weeks can turn your MYPART into a mystery part, and baby, we don’t want that.

4. Don’t compare it to other installs.
This is in a league of its own. The MYPART is not a closure, not a leaveout, and definitely not a lace. It’s a lifestyle. Respect the category.

5. Don’t let everybody touch it.
Your homegirl don’t need to "see how it’s in there." Too much pulling, poking, or “lemme see” energy will shift your install or mess up the technique. Hands off, period.. This ain’t a group project, it's your crown.

6. Don’t skip dry shampoo.
Bae, this right here? It’s the game changer. Cambodian hair LOVES a lil’ dry shampoo to revive and bring back the bounce. Use a generous amount, comb it through, and watch it flow like new. Your bundles gon’ thank you.

Retouches & Wear Time

Retouches: Every 4–6 weeks (found under “Mypart Retouch” on the booking page)
Max Wear: 3 months with 2 retouches
After that? It’s takedown time, sis.

🛏️ Sleep Care: How to Wake Up Flat & Layed

Girl, this is non-negotiable.

Every night, wrap your "Mypart" section directly with a silk or satin scarf.

Then and only then can you toss your bonnet on top.
Do NOT skip the scarf and rely on a bonnet alone. That’s how you wake up with a hump, and we don't fight humps, we prevent them.

Sleep Order:

1. Scarf on the "MYPART"

2. Bonnet on top (optional)

3. Wake up still THAT girl 😌

Gym Tips (Without Having to Wash After)

You do NOT have to wash your hair after every workout.

Here’s what to do before and during the gym:

Pull your hair into a loose ponytail or clip

if your a sweater, wrap your entire head in a scarf (not just the edges, full head, boo)

After the gym, let your scalp breathe before wrapping again

Use Hair Deodorant for odor and bacteria protection

✈️ Vacation or Swimming? Read This First.

YES! You can take her outside,  just don’t wild out in the waves, boo.

If swimming: try to keep the" Mypart" dry, but if the water is just calling you, just be careful how you wash the part. Wash extensions gently afterwards. Do not scrub your part like it stole something.. Detangle and air dry when possible. oh and use lots of conditioner!

💇🏽‍♀️How to Take Down Your MYPART (Without Snatching Out Your Real Hair)

You did your big one, but now it’s time to let her go.
Max wear time? 3 months, with 2 retouches in between. After that, it’s giving "Release her, sis."

But don’t panic, takedown doesn’t have to be scary.
You got this. It’s just hair, not heart surgery.
Let’s do it the right way so you keep your real hair safe.

✂️ Here’s How To Remove Your MYPART Like a Pro:

  1. Start with the tracks:
Take out every single bundle, don’t leave even one

  2. Remove the net:
Snip carefully and slide it out.

  3. Unbraid gently:
Start undoing your foundation braids, but leave the two MYPART braids for last.

  4. Now the MYPART’s left staring at you.
(This part is not your real hair, boo.)

  5. Spray her down.
Use a spray bottle to fully soak the MYPART section. Make her juicy. This softens the strands and makes the takedown smoother.

  6. Snip the MYPART short.
Yes, girl, cut it down to about 2 inches. Trust the process.

  7. Unbraid the two MYPART braids.
Take your time, this part is delicate.

  8. Gently comb the MYPART hair out.
Start from the ends, work your way up. You’ll see some shedding, that’s the MYPART hair coming out, not your real hair, don’t panic.

🛑 What to Expect:

Some shedding (totally normal)
A relieved scalp
Your real hair still intact
✅ freedom

🎉 YOU DID IT!

Your scalp is breathing, your real hair is safe, and now you’re ready for your next install or a break if your hair said, “Girl, let’s rest.”

The MYPART life is cute, but knowing how to care from install to takedown?
That’s grown woman energy.
